A Prayer Can Lead To So Much More

February 03, 2022

Kari*, a house church leader in Los Angeles, holds her church services in the park. The goal? To better share God’s love with her community. Her house church team regularly walks around the park to pray for others. They have also partnered with a local ministry to offer a food outreach there.

During one of these outreaches Kari approached a woman to see if she had any needs. The woman’s name was Rose*. Kari offered to pray for her. Rose shared that she was sick and would appreciate the prayer.

Kari shared, “as soon as I closed my eyes, the Lord said, ‘lungs.’ So, I prayed for healing in her lungs.”

After the prayer Kari asked Rose about her lungs. Rose confessed that she had been diagnosed with emphysema. In fact, she was so moved by the prayer she offered her contact information to Kari. Rose was compelled to stay connected.

And, connected she is. Rose now attends church in the park and continues to stay connected to Kari! But, Kari is quick to acknowledge that God is the one doing the work, “There’s no way I would have known she had emphysema.”

The choice to step out in boldness and believe that God wants to bring healing led to a precious life touched by the power of God!
