Feeding the Neighborhood

February 01, 2021

In April 2020, Paulina and her husband received the wonderful news that they were pregnant with their fourth baby. They were elated and very grateful to the Lord for granting their hearts’ desire. Little did they know that they would also become pregnant with a spiritual ministry the following month when they agreed to start a House Church in their home.

Believing for the strength needed to not only grow their family but also lead a ministry at the same time, they opened their home for their first House Church service on Pentecost Sunday. They have been gathering every week since then.

Very quickly, they noticed a need arise in their neighborhood. Many neighbors due to job loss, illness, or other circumstances were in need of food. They began delivering 40 boxes of food to their immediate neighbors every Wednesday.

Paulina recalls, “Loaded with boxes, we knocked on each door, introducing ourselves and letting them know we could pray for them.”

Three weeks after that initial food drive, the Lord increased the number of boxes to 140 and eventually to 600! Since this amount was too large to deliver, they decided to organize a drive-up delivery method instead. Each Wednesday, neighbors drive up to their home to pick up a box of food.

“Word spread quickly and soon we were handing out food to people from the surrounding cities as well,” Paulina explains. “We even prayed with some of them to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior! We still are in awe at what the Lord did in the hearts of all who came for a box of food and left with a physical and spiritual need met.”

Paulina and her husband were able to bless 3,324 families! In addition, they created relationships with their neighbors and sowed seeds of love into their hearts.

What are some ways you could sow love into your neighbors?
