Making Disciples

November 08, 2021

Justin* met Kevin* when taking ballroom dancing lessons with their spouses. They got along well and Justin shared freely about his relationship with God. During the course of the classes Kevin was devastated with the news that both he and his wife had both lost their jobs on the same day. He immediately reached out to Justin.

Justin invited Kevin for coffee to talk. Kevin showed up with a bandaged hand. It was bandaged because he put his hand through a pane of glass from anger about the situation. His hurt was immense, and Justin began to share from his own testimony of God reaching him in a difficult time through Level 1 of Operation Solid Lives (OSL). He shared the discipleship process and offered to meet with Kevin weekly to encourage him through the process. Kevin agreed that the process would be challenging, but he was willing to try.

On the first week they met, Kevin shared he’d been given a car! But the blessing didn’t stop there. By the end of the 4 weeks he was spending more time in the Word and less time in media. His countenance had changed so significantly that others began to comment. Not only was his spiritual life changed but he was also presented with three new job opportunities. Then an unexpected financial blessing enabled him to obtain the certifications he would need for his new career. In a show of God’s immense favor, Kevin’s wife also ended up with an incredible job!

Kevin’s life was radically changed because Justin reached out and helped him become a disciple of Jesus. Justin was blessed too as he discovered the joy of partnering with God to see His will and blessing come to pass for others. Now Justin has committed to looking for others who can engage on this same journey.
